Valley National Bank

Your bank has room for improvement on climate responsibility.

Valley Bank is a regional bank headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey. It operates across New Jersey, New York, Florida, Alabama, California, and Illinois.

The bank is not transparent about its lending to the fossil fuel sector, so we cannot rule out that it funds coal, oil and gas projects. However, we think it's unlikely.

The bank does have a small amount of lending to (as well as investments in) renewable energy projects. Valley also has a program offering discounted financing for hybrid and electric vehicles.

We would like to see the bank measure the greenhouse gas impact of its lending, set science-based climate targets and put in place a clear policy that it will not lend to fossil fuel companies.

Bank.Green believes that mass movements will pull us out of the climate crisis – and they’ll pull your bank out, too.

We were founded on the belief that banks have had an easy time from their customers for too long. Our mission is to encourage as many people as possible to take a stand - to refuse to let their money fuel environmental destruction any longer. Join us in building this movement by pressuring your bank to do better, or by taking your money to somewhere that cares about our planet's future.
