Fifth Third Bank

Your bank is climate responsible.

Fifth Third Bank is a bank headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, which operates across 12 states in the Midwestern and Southeastern US.

Fifth Third is helping its customers and communities move to a lower-carbon, sustainable future and achieve positive social outcomes. It has to date provided $8 billion of funding to renewable energy projects and has set a goal of providing $100 billion in environmental and social finance by 2030. The bank does have $2.8 billion of legacy fossil fuel funding but it also has a policy of not providing any new lending to either existing or new fossil fuel projects. We therefore expect to see fossil fuel funding to decrease every year and renewable energy funding to increase every year.

Fifth Third Bank is one of very few US banks to have measured and disclosed the greenhouse gas impact of its lending, it provides specialist lending to companies engaged in circular economy, green buildings, energy efficiency and clean transportation sectors.

It has also assessed its climate risks and put in place a governance framework to manage them.

Bank.Green was founded on the belief that banks have had an easy time from their customers for too long.

Our mission is to encourage as many people as possible to take a stand - to refuse to let their money fuel environmental destruction any longer. Considering who you bank with, we think you probably agree. This is your chance to spread the word with us.
