The bank's exposure to the fossil fuel sector is minimal. In contrast, at December 31, 2023, their loan portfolio contained $751 million of loans in the categories of renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, water and waste management, environmental remediation, carbon capture, climate change adaptation, and emissions and greenhouse gas reduction.
We would like to see BankUnited measure and disclose its greenhouse gas emissions, set science-based targets and put in place a clear policy on not lending to the fossil fuel sector.
