Your bank has room for improvement on climate responsibility.
Bank of Us is a Tasmanian customer-owned bank. It has not been transparent about its banking practices, so we cannot rule out that it lends to fossil fuel companies, although we consider the risk of that to be low as it's a community bank.
We would like Bank of Us to become more climate responsible:
- Measure and disclose greenhouse gas emissions enabled by its lending and has set targets
- Put in place a policy stating that it will not provide any financing to fossil fuel companies and projects
- Start offering "green" products, such as loans for home renewable energy solutions and purchase of electric vehicles
