Your bank has room for improvement on climate responsibility.
Auswide Bank has not disclosed whether it has lending to the fossil fuel sector. However, we think it's unlikely as its commercial lending accounted for less than 1% of its total lending at the end of June 2024.
Auswide has a policy in place of not providing financing to companies primarily engaged in thermal coal or coal seam gas activities. We'd like to see this policy extended to cover all fossil fuels.
We'd also like to see the bank ramp up its support for the clean energy transition by increasing its renewable energy lending.
