Alterna Savings and its subsidiary Alterna Bank have not disclosed their commercial lending by industry, so we cannot rule out that they don't fund the fossil fuel industry. Alterna appears to be doing very little to support clean energy.

We'd like to see the bank put in place a policy of not financing the fossil fuel industry, measure and disclose its financed emissions, and start offering "green" products, such as preferential interest rates for loans to improve energy efficiency in buildings and purchase of EVs.
